That doesn’t appear to be a 5″ barrel. Big handgun for dangerous furry animals with sharp teeth and claws that eat people. If your range includes those animals, this would be a great choice.
I thought the holster was a Chesty Puller holster made by Simply Rugged. That one in lik looks great. Simply Rugged is good holster manufacturer, sort of bridges the custom – factory made leather holsters. No dog in that fight, just a satisfied customer of theirs.

Well, remember that the length of the barrel would be measured from the very beginning of the forcing cone on a revolver. It looks like 5″ to me.

At one time I thought I heard that any pistol chambered for .454 Casul could also fire .45 Colt. Is that correct?
I’d love a Redhawk in .45 Colt, can’t seem to find one. A Super Redhawk could be a back-up. I have multiple single actions in .45 Colt and handload for that round, thus my interest.

Put that way, you are right Mr. Smith. I guess its the mass of a Redhawk which made me question the length. Redhawks are built plenty stout. That isn’t a Security-Six by any means. !

Lots of .44 Mag Redhawks on Gunbroker in shorter barrels.
.44 Mag Super Redhawks are mostly 7.5″ and up.
Personally, I don’t like the Super Redhawk’s shroud over the barrel.
Maybe it’s necessary for .454 class, but for a .44 Mag, I prefer the Redhawk’s looks.

@Don,
Yes it’s my understanding that a 454 Casull wheel gun can shoot 45 Colt, but the POA/POI will change so you have to practice with it.

Thanks, Mr. Smith. Yes, like shooting .38’s in a .357, the delta in velocity will certainly affect POI but I’ve been there, done that before.
