Rossi R95 Lever-Action Rifle

Well it finally happened. Rossi actually came out with a nice looking rifle, with a pistol style grip, fairly good looking Walnut stock, with at least the appearance of a good fit and finish. At least that’s what you’d conclude from the picture.
Right now it’s in .30-30. It might be nice to have for a price point < $1000 (street price will be lower). I expect it will be “unobtanium” for the time being, but time will tell how they meet demand.
So the next step for Rossi will be to make one of these in Walnut, with the pistol style grip, chambered in .454 Casull.

Hey, that is rather nicely put together. The half magazine – metal foreend (w/ front sling attachment), a hand filling fore-end nice pistol grip dimensions. Like a ‘Baby 45-70’. Stock does appear made for iron sights only.
Not bad Rossi !

One thing about Rossi products – you do not want to be one of the early adopters. If you do have to send it back, they take months and months to get back with you and the problem may not be solved.
I forget which guntuber it was, but he sent a .44 Mag Rossi in because the barrel was out of spec (he slugged it) and a screw was stripped out. What he got back had a new barrel that was out of spec (he slugged the new barrel) and a shit job on repairing the screw – after several months. If you’re in the market for a .44 Mag lever action, forego the Rossi until they upgrade their tooling for their barrel making.

Rossi has been making the R92 with a walnut stock in .454 for years. Bought mine in 2014 and they weren’t anything new back then. Paid around $670.

Very nice fit/finish and less recoil than you would think.

I know, but not one with the pistol grip that looks more like a Marlin, nor with the blued barrel.
