Right on. Schofield was verifiably a degenerate. Moody and other bigwigs entertained him. Birds of a feather?
Dispensationalism is heresy. Like with other heresies, it leads to destruction. Unfortunately, a huge portion of American Christianity is so deluded that it’s scarcely salvageable. Many of these people can’t even be induced to think soberly. After all, Jesus is just about to come suck us into the sky to save us from the world that we let go to hell.
There is only one Church, one Bride, one Chosen People. (Hint; it’s not the haters of Christ!)
He learned this heresy from Darby. But of course, my challenge problem to virtually everyone who will listen is this: “Find me one instance of anyone in the church before Darby believing that there are different dispensations of grace, different ways in which men are saved, that the church is the grand “parenthesis” in church history, and that Christ will return to set up an earthly kingdom of a 1000 years.”
Go ahead. I’ll wait as long as you want me to. Find me one instance of such belief in the history of the church before the time of Darby.
Or for that matter the belief in the notion that the world is owned by the devil right now. It seems to me that I’ve read somewhere that the cattle on a thousand hills belongs to the Lord. Yes, I’m certain I’ve read that before.
