Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Beats Up Old Man
BY Herschel Smith1 year, 1 month ago
Bad day for him, an unjustified beating, for no good reason at all. The officer should have tried to help him find a better place to rest, caring (as he should have) about his safety on the road.
Instead, he got beaten up because, in the words of the officer, “You weren’t listening.”
So once again we must observe and remind you of the obvious. You are not under legal obligation to assist any officer in their investigation. The officer must be able to articulate a crime that has been committed in order to effect an arrest, and at least articulate a reasonable suspicion in order to detain you. None of that obtained in this instance. The officer was wrong about where the gentleman was contrasted to where he was allowed to be.
Why is that police departments continue to hire the dumbest and most sociopathic misanthropes they can find? Perhaps they are the only ones who aren’t bothered by beating up innocent and peaceable people. Would that they took their duty so seriously when it comes to real criminals.
To top it all off, the officer conveniently turned off his camera when he discussed the incident with his fellow officers, of course, hiding evidence of his violence.
All of that caused a severe concussion, eight broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a disfigured lip.
Who needs criminals around when you have the police, all of whom have qualified immunity? At least Antifa didn’t have qualified immunity except among prosecutors who loved them.
The enemy is all around you. Be careful.
For what it’s worth, the officer is currently on paid vacation.

Oh, come on!
I’m sure the nice deputy MEANT WELL while he was beating on that man. Don’t you think we should give officer the benefit of the doubt in these circumstances? I mean, It doesn’t matter what the video shows, if mere mortals would just submit and comply, these things would probably have different outcomes.
If the nice deputy wants to perform an anal exam, with a good finger wave, just submit and comply! You can always go to court and beg a judge to correct the nice deputy later. I mean, after all, we should all assume it is for our own good, right?
A wise man, Sheriff Teasle I think it was, once said,
“People go fuckin’ around with The Law and all HELL breaks loose!”
More wise words were never spoken.
Submit! SUBMIT! It’s what Free Men do!

I don’t usually get winded after kicking the shit out of old men, but when I do, I take COPSAPRICK. Ask your LT. if COPSAPRICK is right for you.
Side effects may cause you to loose control, do stupid shit, beat people then lie about it. Frequent paid vacations may follow

Now that’s amusing right there. I’m not clever enough to come up with stuff like that. You should be blogging rather than me.

Details: “On Sept. 29, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Clay Hilton, 50, was placed on administrative leave pending an excessive force investigation. That same day, Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels was notified of the incident by the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office, which had just met with “a local defense attorney,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release on Facebook on Oct. 6.
“Allegations of misconduct by law enforcement are very concerning to our community and myself,” Spokane County Sheriff John F. Nowels said. “I want to assure the public we serve that this investigation will be complete and that the rights of all individuals involved will be protected.”
An outside investigation, the sheriff said, would be conducted by the Spokane Police Department. An internal investigation into the incident would be conducted by the sheriff’s office as well.
The arrest left Hinton with eight broken ribs, a punctured lung, a severe concussion, an injury to his shoulder, and a disfigured lip, according to the man’s attorneys. In the footage, Hinton’s face visibly bleeds. His shirt was also visibly ripped. Something is knocked out of his mouth. Hinton’s attorneys say those were his dentures.
At the same time, the body-worn camera footage was published.
In the video, the deputy tells Hinton he can’t be in the park after hours. The man then tries to leave, drinks from a travel mug, and says he’ll find somewhere else to watch a movie but is stopped.
“You’re not shutting the door, you’re not free to leave,” Hilton tells the man.
“Uhh, yeah, I am, why are you acting like that?” Hinton asks.
The scene escalates as the deputy demands the man’s name. The man refuses to give it to him. The man is told he is probably going to jail, so he stands up but tells the officer to keep his hands to himself. Then a struggle ensues.
The footage is violent. The 62-year-old frequently expresses his confusion and fear as he is punched over and over.
Hundreds of comments critical of Hilton were then posted on the sheriff’s office Facebook page, according to The Spokesman-Review. Some of those comments were allegedly threatening, the sheriff’s office told the paper. Then, the sheriff’s office took down their Facebook page for several days. Spokane County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Cpl. Mark Gregory, who is in charge of the Facebook page, said some posts were vulgar. Multiple comments critical of the deputy linked to “a monetized YouTube personality who often criticizes police,” the local paper reported.
Before the online uproar, Hinton obtained legal counsel. He had been charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a law enforcement officer. After his attorney in the criminal case reviewed the footage with Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor Preston McCollam, the charges were dismissed with prejudice, the Review reports. The charges against the 62-year-old cannot be refiled.
“He was almost beaten to death for a $50 infraction,” attorney Tim Note told the paper.
Note and fellow attorney Josh Maurer are preparing a lawsuit against the sheriff’s office, according to the Review.
On Sunday, the SCSO Facebook page reappeared.
“We’re back!” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post on Sunday. “We apologize for not having our page up the last few days. It was unpublished due to a large amount of spam, abusive/profane language, threats, and attacks on people/posters in our community. This type of activity is a violation of our Social Media Disclaimer Policy as a Limited Public Forum and generally the policy of Facebook. Due to the disruption of these posts and our desire to protect everyone’s rights, the decision was made to unpublish the page to consult with our legal advisors.”
The welcome-back post also referenced the underlying incident involving Hinton and the sheriff’s deputy.
“At this time, the independent investigation into an incident that occurred between a Sheriff’s Office Sergeant, who remains on administrative leave, and an adult male occupant of a vehicle continues,” the post reads. “Until the investigation is concluded and all facts and evidence have been learned and documented, we have been advised by legal counsel not to make any additional statements. We must protect the integrity of the independent investigation and work to uphold the rights of everyone involved. We ask everyone for your patience during this time. Thank you.” https://lawandcrime.com/caught-on-video/sheriffs-office-deactivates-reactivates-facebook-account-after-criticism-and-spam-over-62-year-olds-bloody-arrest/
I predict a rather large cash settlement is going to get paid out, in lieu of a very embarrassing trial. It might be better if this did go to trial – depending of course on the jury and the extent to which they reflexively believe that cops always tell the truth. That’s a big hurdle to get over, because people are trained to believe that “if you aren’t guilty, the cops won’t arrest you” and “if you didn’t commit a crime, then why didn’t you comply and talk to the cops/provide ID/cooperate/etc. ?” Years of DARE indoctrination, followed by cop shows on TV really influence people – because no TV cop ever lies or does bad things, and if they do, they’re well justified. It’s been a long time since Serpico…

Why do cops do his? Simple. Because they can. They rarely suffer any personal consequences for this conduct. They get a paid vacation, their victim gets a check…money stolen by force from the taxpayers, and then the cop goes right back to being a douchebag. Another criminal pinned to a badge. Till cops suffer personal PAINFUL consequences for these events EVERY time they happen nothing will change.

Why do they hire sociopaths? Because nowadays it is considered a feature not a bug.

This cop needs to pay the price for his actions.
I literally just watched a white senior Deputy shoot a black man who had been wrongfully put in prison for like 17 years.
The guy was speeding,,,,,,,the deputy said 100mph, big deal, as the driver states so write me my speeding ticket. Agree! Cars today are capable and safe at 100 mph, a wise cop would scratch the cite, move on, or provide a verbal warning. During my career a citizen got either a lecture or a citation, not both.
I issued a lot of lectures, I read the readers digest version of the law to the citizen asked if he was ok self correcting the issue. All of course said yes, down the road we both went. Teachable moment.
This Deputy is a senior Sgt, is wayyyyy out of line, he starts the fight, ends up killing the dude!
It is my opinion that the Sgt Deputy committed murder or some such crime under the color of authority!
This Deputy Sgt needs to be in jail, tried and upon conviction put in prison. Fucking punk hiding behind a Badge.
