The ownership moves to Czechoslovakia, not the actual ammo factories. And the sad truth is the Czech’s are friendlier to 2A rights than most businesses in America.

I wonder if this Czech group is the owner of S&B ammo? They offer quality ammo at better than normal prices.

Went to local Academy this weekend and noticed ALL handgun ammunition offerings are FMJ bullets. Not a single box of HP / SP or other expanding handgun bullet design. Not quite sure what to make of that.

Those of us who follow the military community and national defense issues have been sounding the alarm for years ~ in my cases, decades ~ that our nation does not have enough of an industrial base to defend itself adequately.
In 1945, U.S. industrial capacity was fully one-half ~ 50% ~ of the entire output of the world! Ponder that for a moment, and then the fact that our supply lines are now so lean that at one point ~ fifteen years ago, Lake City could not supply enough small arms ammunition to the U.S. military to prosecute the GWOT. Israeli Military Industries (IMI) was contacted on an emergency basis to fill the gap.
Nor is the situation any better today in the U.S. or her NATO allies. At current inventory levels, neither Britain nor Germany has enough 155mm artillery shells to last more than about a week of heavy fighting. Their armories are almost empty. The same applies here in the ‘States, albeit not quite as severely. And lead times to replenish these dwindling stocks are long, in some cases months or years ~ which during a hot war, is an eternity.
This has come about because the Pentagon/DOD have failed their duty to protect the nation, by allowing the money men on Wall Street to structure the defense industry not for surge capacity and increased production, but for extraction of maximum profits. Which means the minimum number of suppliers and virtually no excess capacity.
Consequently, our armed forces may be reduced to throwing rocks if WW3 goes hot globally. I am not exaggerating in the least; I wish I was. The U.S. is pathetically unprepared to fight a conventional war of attribution. Coupled with the insane war-mongering of the U.S. foreign policy establishment, and you have a recipe for disaster.
Small arms ammo supplies are so short that I would not put it past the current regime to confiscate privately-owned stocks of ammo in the name of “national security” or some other gambit.
Off-topic somewhat, but one can’t help but wonder whatever happened to those gigantic ammo buys made during the Obama years. What happened to them? Given to the Taliban? Sent to Ukraine? Israel? Inquiring minds want to know.

If you're interested in what else the The Captain's Journal has to say, you might try thumbing through the archives and visiting the main index, or; perhaps you would like to learn more about TCJ.
