I Screwed Up, Concealed Carry “Insurance” Is Useless

You’ve got to give him credit for honesty and integrity.
Some time ago I looked into the caveats and stipulations and decided the same thing myself.

This whole “CCW Ins.” thing just Never sat in my Gut right.
Thats what kept me from ever doing anything, with any of them.
And after seeing the few things this gentlemen pointed out.
I’ll stick with my gut.
It did me well working in Bars amd Large Venues for 20yrs. You see, when your 125-130lbs soaking wet, learning to Read your Environment amd Situation goes along way. At least so far.

Once a gun rights org gets into the CCW insurance business, they have a conflict of interest, because they now have a financial incentive to make it mandatory for all gun owners, just as happened with auto insurance in the 60s.

Ok, Thanks for this. I joined them about 3 months ago and really had no idea about their caveats. Will cancel today and look at Attorney on Retainer.

I always figured it for some sort of scam. Like when I tried to make a claim on my NRA firearms insurance for a stolen pistol – they required a purchase receipt, but I had acquired it through a trade and thus, had no receipt.
I did get the pistol back. The cops arrested a dude who had it in his possession, and my due diligence in making sure the serial # got entered into NICs flagged it as stolen. The arresting officer called me personally and kept me posted as to when my property would be released from evidence. It was sooner than later because the scumbag took a plea instead of going to trial.

If they don’t actually cover any of their customers, word will quickly get around. Everything he talks about is legit exclusions, at their discretion. They aren’t going to cover you or help you if you clearly murder someone. Would you expect them to? Would you do business with them if they did?
I’m not defending them; I am going to review my Texas Law Shield coverage after watching this, so thank you Captain for linking to it.
My homeowners, car, and liability umbrella policies all have similar sorts of exclusions. But generally, they pay. I’m using a well-known insurance company, not a cheap one.
If USA Carry or whatever ever doesn’t pay/cover someone… don’t you expect it to be all over the ‘net in about a day, and ruin their business? I’m not convinced that the coverage is “worthless”. But yeah, it may not be there when you need it, like any other insurance. You pays your money and you takes your chances…
As Mas says… pull the trigger and expect to lose everything you own.

I’m keeping mine. I don’t have the one mentioned in video, something always seemed gimmicky about them. If, heaven forbid, you’re involved in a shooting that’s not lawful self-defense don’t expect any worthwhile legal defense in the first place regardless of the source.

Well, if everyone agrees (cops, DA, etc.) that it’s a lawful self-defense, then you don’t need insurance, do you? But let’s say someone doesn’t agree, like maybe a Soros DA. Then you have to go to court to determine whether or not it was lawful (yeah, yeah, I know, the court system is heavily flawed). That’s exactly where you need insurance to pay for legal defense. And the insurance carrier better damn well know they’ll be spending money on cases that’ll fail every so often.

Don, even if never charged criminally, you can be pursued for civil damages. That’s the best use case for having carry insurance. I’m keeping mine.
