CZ-75 Carbine

I don’t get too worked up over TFB videos of new products, but for fans of the CZ Shadow 2 (and I can attest that it’s a fine firearm, reminding you of what it’s like to shoot a 1911), this is the dope right here.
Put a red dot and a light on it and it would make a fine truck gun or home defense gun (for those who don’t relish the thought of ever having to discharge a rifle round inside a home).
I can see putting this on the wish list – but I’ll admit that the price is a bit steep.

Nifty for sure, but call me when CZ starts making a 10MM that fits into that platform. (Actually, if they started making a Shadow in 10, I’d be willing to sell a couple family members to buy one)

I used to have a serious case of ‘wants’ with the Glock 21 .45ACP Mec-Tec conversion back in the day. But I never acted on it and sometimes, I regret that.

If you have the $$$ and the desire there’s nothing wrong with this carbine. But you can get a 9mm carbine that’s just as effective, just as reliable for a lot less money. The S&W FPC is just one example.

If interested, S&W just released their Response PCC in 9x19mm, and while it isn’t a folder, it is laid out along more traditional AR-style lines for those who prefer that set-up in contrast to the S&W FPC. The FPC is a nice rig, but it doesn’t have any provision for the mounting of an optic over the receiver; it is set-up only for scout-style forward-mounted optics or BUIS. The charging handle is also a bit clunky, IMHO, though not overly so.
Ruger just released the LC Carbine in 45 ACP, and if you run the exterior ballistics of common 45 loads out of a 16-inch tube, it provides a nice boost in performance as compared to a standard 5-inch barrel M1911 or M1911A1. Nothing yet in 9×19, however, or for that matter, 10mm Auto. The LCC takes Glock mags, too, which is a nice touch.

True…the FPC isn’t the end all be all for 9mm carbines. It’s just one option of many. And at a good price.
