Sonoma Deputies Kill Thirteen Year Old Boy Carrying Toy Gun
BY Herschel Smith11 years, 2 months ago
California sheriff’s officials and family members say deputies shot and killed a 13-year-old boy who was carrying a replica assault weapon.
Two Sonoma County deputies saw the boy walking with the replica weapon at about 3 p.m. local time Tuesday in Santa Rosa. Lt. Dennis O’Leary says they repeatedly ordered him to drop what appeared to be a rifle before firing several rounds.
The boy fell to the ground. Deputies handcuffed him and began administering first aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies then discovered that the gun the man had been carrying was a replica, and he also had a plastic gun in his waistband, CBS San Francisco reports. O’Leary said the teen is believed to live in the area where he was killed.
The deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave while an investigation is conducted by police from Santa Rosa and Petaluma and the district attorney’s office, CBS San Francisco reports.
This is wicked behavior. In Colonial times men were expected to carry their weapons to church worship services and practice afterwards with the rest of the community. Today, LEOs will, at the slightest provocation, properly interpreted or not, gun down little boys where they stand for carrying toys. The important thing of course is that the LEOs got to “go home at the end of their shift.”
The mother asks, “Why did they kill him? Why?” Because they can. Grieve for your lost little boy, Mrs. Cazarez, and we will grieve for the loss of our country to agents of Satan. Now watch the blue wall close in behind these cops, these child murderers. Watch it happen, and tell me if a single cop tells the truth or holds anyone accountable. Tell me if a judge or jury finds these men guilty of anything? No, the strongest response will be from totalitarian lawmakers who want to make it illegal to have or sell toy guns.
Watch it happen.

Sickening.
If anything, the officers involved will get a slap on the wrist and be “forced” to attend more “training.”
Personally, I view “punishing” officers with “more training” the same way I view sending criminals to prison (a.k.a. “criminal training camps”). It doesn’t reform their ways; it just trains them to do their jobs more effectively. For criminals, it makes them more effective criminals – for cops, it makes them better at shooting kids playing with toys and sleeping or proned old men.
But hey, it’s “better.” That’s “Progress,” right?

In California, we have no open carry. In the San Francisco Bay Area – Sonoma – concealed carry permits are virtually unobtainable.
Then, of course, there is the insane crime statistics in Oakland, 30 miles away. We are now the robbery capital of the country, and are running neck-in-neck with Chicago,
The presumption, therefore, is that if you have a “weapon”, you’re nefarious.
My guess – the officers will be declared to have acted properly, and the case will be closed. Also, this will be a further excuse to enact more gun-banning legislation.

Jack, yes, like I said above. Cops will be found to have acted properly.
But why not assume that it’s a drunk, or a child, or someone who doesn’t know the law? Because they can shoot anyone they want and get away with it.

About the only thing that disgusts me more is the automatic chorus of cop cheerleaders with their perennial chants of “cops have a dangerous job”. There’re plenty more dangerous jobs out there than being a state-costumed badge-encrusted tax feeder! I pray that boy has a vengeful family.

Please realize that crimes by “Law Enforcement” are DRASTICALLY underreported because the Media understands what can happen to them any time they dare document anything other than what they are fed by the Blue Wall.

What is the use of giving cops tasers and pepper spray when they reach for the sidearm first? Unlike the cops of my boyhood, cops today don’t hesitate to kill first and ask questions later. This is a national disgrace.

@ Roger J: YES!! Thank You!! I hadn’t thought of all the “less-lethal” options cops have available, but it seems obvious now. Especially for a 13-year-old kid, why was the sidearm the first/default choice?

Lack of training and poor leadership of LEO’s
There is a common thread that links this story to so many others, local LEO’s despite billions of tax dollars spent, are poorly trained, ineffective, and suffer from a lack of leadership at all levels. This is compounded by corrupt local politicians and an ignorant electorate.
I recently witnessed the most inept police operation in my neighborhood. The police made a routine traffic stop. During the stop, the driver fled the police and ran into our neighborhood. The police spent several hours speeding through the neighborhood trying to apprehend the suspect. They did not dismount from their vehicles, but opted to use the “grand theft auto” method of law enforcement which resulted in vehicle damage to several cars. They also refused to engage the locals- who have very good understanding of the terrain. We told them, “the guy you are looking for has jumped into a drainage ditch that bisects the neighbor, you can not catch him in your Dodge Charger” After the traffic accident which was caused by the LEOs. A supervisor appeared, not the most inspiring leader. She took great offense at the questions that were asked:
• What is your pursuit policy in a neighborhood, why was the officer speeding at night without lights or a siren, two hours after the perp jumped from the car?
• Why did your officers refused to share information with citizens- Is the perp armed description etc.
• Why were the citizens told to return to their homes?
• How can the police department surge 8 cars into a neighborhood at night, but fail to patrol during the day (we had a daylight burglary the same day, police were slow respond.
• Who is your supervisor and what is their contact information- BTW she lied to us and tried to give us the local police number
• Was the suspect appended
• Would you like to borrow our dogs, they are well trained and disciplined, unlike your officers- ( that comment pissed them off)
They were also offended that many of the citizens /neighbors had chosen to exercise their 2nd amendment rights, which unfortunately became their main focus, not finding the suspect or policing the accident scene- Officer Grand Theft T-boned a citizen. Suspect still at large. Piss poor performance by the LEO’s.

The non-stop, hysterical demonization of firearms by California politicians and the media surely played a role in this tragedy as well. All rifles are evil, per se, is their constant mantra. If it looks like a rifle, the mind-set kicks in. Who’s carrying it, how, or why, become irrelevant, or secondary to the primary goal of suppressing the mere presence of an instrument of evil. Such a mind-set can unnecessarily escalate an otherwise non-threatening incident. Then, the wrong move by an innocent, frightened kid can bring an instant deadly response by perhaps innocent, frightened cops.

Wow. A few quick questions. Was any of us there and do we really think that the media has given us the whole story? When they publish their crap about US there is usually an agenda, why should we give them the benifit of the doubt on this. Why haven’t they tried to villify this kid yet? Is it because he may have looked like what the Big Putz’s son would look like if he had a son?
I agree with you WCRISLER, in this time of mass shootings, frightened cops tend to mess up but that’s not an excuse. And still, I wonder what’s going on here with the msm. Gotta be more to this than meets the eye.

No there isn’t, ShallNOTBeInfringed. Cold-blooded murders such as this have become standard for “Law Enforcement” across the country. Even in one’s own home. Even when “Law Enforcement” has no justification for BEING there. At most, the friends and family of the Mere Citizen may get some taxpayer dollars as compensation. While the pigs get themselves a good laugh.
Of course, the Preferred Species status of the victim probably does have something to do with why it even was reported by the Media in the first place…

Big difference between the responsible men of our founding and a 13 year old gangbanger from Mexico sent to a disiplinary high school. If you can’t see that, go spend some time in Mexico.

Great point! Absolutely awesome. This is perfect. If I had tried I couldn’t have scripted this any better. For my readers, I promise that I’m not Federale trying to gin up interest or web site traffic.
So your argument is because he was a troubled youth (according to you, I have no idea), it’s okay for LEOs to gun him down for carrying a toy.
Like I said. I couldn’t have scripted this any better.
And BTW, I’ll stay in America. Finally, the thought occurs to me concerning “the responsible men of our founding” that this is your excuse (and the excuse of most LEOs) for the thuggery you enact on the American people today. We must do these kinds of things because society has changed.
Sorry, that dog won’t hunt. It isn’t your job to change society. That’s the job of families and chuches. Stay within your boundaries. “A man’s got to know his limitations.” And if you don’t get the evidence you wanted if you don’t invade people’s homes with SWAT teams … now listen carefully … I … DON’T … CARE.
Are we clear?

How would a reasonable person know it was a toy? Logic (lol) in here states that a 13 year old couldn’t possibly be a threat. Maybe in your little world. Lots of great second-guessing in here (as usual) AFTER the facts become clear and the incident is over.
If someone knocked on your door holding this replica AK-47, would you open the door? If he or she was only 13 years old? Of course, you would KNOW it was a replica and open right up.
If it was you called to check out this person carrying a gun call, I know you would point your tazer when he points his unknown object at you.
Keep up the great work furthering the conspiracies with your “unbiased” “well-researched” and “common sense” approach, Hersh!
*how long til Hersh removes an opposing-view?…..

Good question Wyatt. How do we know that alleged LEOs are really LEOs? After all, a favorite tactics of criminal gangs now is to pose as LEOs on your front door steps.
As for carrying a weapon, my own State of North Carolina is an open carry state, and I open carry frequently. The boogey man doesn’t come, and the end of the world does not happen.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD wave and smile at me as they pass by. All all is fine and right with the world. It sounds like you live in a different reality than me. Or perhaps you simply think so.

Why don’t you pull the blanket of police-state conspiracy over your pals in the CM-PD? Because maybe you had an actual personal-contact with them and realized most are human beings sharing your “reality”, rather than just furthering second-hand hearsay from your chosen media-outlets.
Enjoy your Carolina-cocoon. Hopefully the “boogey man” won’t ever come, so you’re never forced to make a split-second decision to save your life or the lives of friends and family. I have the same hopes for my relatives living in NC, but I also know there are criminals preying in and around your “reality.”
Hopefully, you don’t have to make the decision about whether or not those are actually CM-PD LEOs making an arrest. I suggest using someone elses best judgement. Some of the families and “chuches” (as you say above) may have failed these criminal gang members who are using this rare tactic.
All is fine and right with the world, until you have to make one of these decisions.

No one knows what you’re talking about Wyatt. The subject pertains to LEOs shooting citizens. The LEOs don’t expect the boogey man, and he doesn’t come. The LEOs don’t mind me carrying. I don’t have any pals there. It’s legal, it’s okay, it’s safe, and no one minds. Little children and women don’t run screaming for LEOs to come save them. They all stop and talk to me.
I suggest that you’re really just bigoted and prejudiced. I bet you never thought about it that way, did you?
