CNN On What House Democrats Can Do About Guns

CNN:
Deutch said implementing universal background checks, a “gun violence restraining order,” which allows law enforcement to ask a judge to temporarily take guns away from people who are deemed a threat, and banning so-called “bump stocks,” are at the top of his list, along with other school safety and mental health initiatives.
With Democrats in control of the House, they can also hold hearings on gun violence, which they tried to pressure Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte, the Republican Congressman of Virginia, to do last year. In March, Rep. Jerry Nadler, the New York Democrat who will take the gavel next year, said “it is long past due” that the committee address the nation’s gun laws.
Get ready for a flurry of gun control bills, but don’t blame the democrats when they get signed into law. A good number of the republicans will also go with the democrats, and my bet is that Trump will sign anything that isn’t directly opposed by the Fudds.
As long as any new controller initiative doesn’t affect bird shot and bolt action deer rifles, the NRA and company won’t oppose it.
Ted Cruz had so much trouble wining Texas and Broward County is creating votes because of immigration. Immigration from south of the border to America, immigration from Puerto Rico to Florida, immigration of Californians to Colorado, Nevada, Washington and Oregon.
When I sat in Johnston hall at Clemson in a room with 20 other guys and watched the debates between Reagan and Carter (and we all cheered for Reagan, to a man), I knew Reagan would win big, and he carried California. California used to be a solid red state. Texas would have been out of the question for democrats thirty years ago. Florida and Virginia used to be solid red states.
It has all happened because of immigration, and we are watching the beginning of the end. You all understand that, right?

Completely agree, Trump will sign gun control. Wouldn’t be surprised if the power structure cuts a deal where Trump is installed in 2020 for serious advancements in the Leftist agenda…because is this not the pattern? What progressive laws have not been conserved by the Right, every single time.

Although with Arizona, if they cheated by a 15% margin to get the Senate seat, why didn’t they do the same for the governor’s race at the same time? From what I’m hearing, the Democrats were able to pick McSally in the primary, and she ran a horrible campaign.

Virginia is turning blue because of Northern Virginia mostly, but the highly populated areas are all liberal. In NY, where I grew up, the blues just took over the state entirely. In reality is was lost long ago – I’ll point to the “SAFE” act as exhibit number one.
Let us not discount fraud AND our own helpless yammering about it. When you and I were in school, the fraud, and many other illegal activities we see today would have landed people in jail. The airwaves would broadcast shot after shot of shamed men and women lead away in handcuffs. Today? They go on a book tour. Where is the outrage?

Texas was Purple/light blue up until 30 years ago. It routinely elected democrats both as governor and to the US Senate. Remember Ann Richards and Lloyd Bensten? Jack Brooks lost his seat that year too, one he had held for over 40 years.

I could go on for 50 Pages of the Negative Impact this uncontrolled ‘Immivasion’ has caused, and so could any ‘Original’ Resident of Anyplace in the Country that has been Overrun by INVADERS.

When I took training in MORT (Management Oversight and Risk Tree), of the many things I learned is that there is never just one root cause. There are always multiple root causes.
In this case, I emphasized one, to your dislike, but notwithstanding that, I’ve also focused on others (e.g., see my disdain for what Horace Mann has done to out educational system, as well as the Marxists in so-called higher ed). I wanted to focus on immigration in this post, so that’s what I did.
I cannot pen a comprehensive essay every time I sit down. None of my posts are ever meant to be read in exclusion from the others.

How do you get that out of “Sorry, Herschel, but blaming it ALL on immigration is a miss.”? Every following that statement is in support of that statement. NOWHERE do I say I “dislike” the immigration issue. NO WHERE! Please excuse my emphatic statements but for some reason youse guys seem to think I’m defending this immigration crap. I am not and will not. I’d be happy to put a moratorium on ALL immigration indefinably and I’m all for kicking anyone out who is here illegally.
As far as NOVA is concerned, I avoid it like the plague. In the little town nearest me, there is a hispanic grocery store. I know we get a number of hispanic migrant workers to tend tobacco crops. Even here we have more than one would expect. So, yes, I am aware we’ve had a huge influx of immigration – mostly hispanic. This has been going on for years. Is it a problem? Uhhhhhh….. YES!

Thus my response above.
MY point was and is: regardless of immigration, the more dense the population density the more liberal that area will be. I don’t give a whit who or what you pack the area with, density alone will turn it blue. This happens in small towns as well as big cities – overwhelmingly. This is an easily observable phenomenon. This concept did not originate with me, though it does ring true. If any of you want to refute and/or argue it, go ahead, I’ll go get some popcorn.
