Rock River Arms 350 Legend

American Rifleman has the scoop, but Ammoland does a little better job by giving stats.
Actually, neither had the scoop on me. I had discussed this very gun with Steve Mayer at RRA back in December of 2019.
My only complaint about Rock River Arms guns is that the ones that I’ve had seem to have weighty front ends. I had always thought they needed to be a little more on the cutting edge for reduced-weight hand guards.
With the unloaded weight of this gun coming in at 6.8 pounds, it seems like they’ve taken up the challenge.
Steve also points out that if you don’t want to buy the whole gun, they sell the upper separately.

Been looking at 350 Legend, the “usefulness choke point” seems to be magazines; 10 rounders are common, larger not. A little time should fix that.

When I built my AR, I used a shorter slotted hand guard to reduce weight up front and overall. There is more barrel and the end of the gas tube and block exposed but that’s OK, I chose weight saving over cosmetics.

I was looking at some YouTube videos of guys modifying their mags using a Dremel and they seem to work better and have no feed issues, and also on point, Wilson Combat has some mags they’ve designed specifically for the 350 Legend. 15-round capacity with 350 Legend.

I put a 16″ Bear Creek Arsenal on my Rock River lower. Shoots like a champ with the Winchester 145 gr. jacketed practice ammo. I haven’t had any problems at all. Those bullets hit like a freight train on steel targets. Just got some 20 round Duramag (by C-Products) mags from SGammo for $15.00/ea. Haven’t run them yet, but I’ve always had good luck with C-Products AR mags. I figure 30 round mags can’t be too far behind.
