Do Masks Cause Harm?

We’ve covered mask usage before and I won’t reiterate that here. But a reader sends this informative video by a safety professional on oxygen underneath masks. I knew this from studying industrial hygiene, but it bears repeating. The video is short and informative.
The reason this is so is because by wearing a mask, you’re re-breathing your own effluent. A mask, in effect, is a piece of rebreather equipment, except that oxygen isn’t introduced and CO2 isn’t removed.

A couple of Doctors from the Mayo Clinic were in town today. Said they were overjoyed to be in our neck of the woods (upper Rockies) because they didn’t have to wear a mask.
Also said they were starting to see a fungal infection presenting in people that wore masks.

It has been that way for at least 30 years. TPTB, nationally and locally are mandating we wear a “face covering” that in an industrial setting is agreed could potentially lead to death by asphyxiation – grok that.
