I took a tour of the Oly plant in Tumwater when I was a kid. At that time (1970) employees could drink beer for free while working but they were still expected to do their jobs. The guy giving the tour emphasized that this meant most employees would just have a beer or two with lunch in the company lunch room.
Times sure have changed.
