Note: 8 years ago I moved from WNY to ETN… You DON’T see guns in NY. Here you meet an old timer at Walmart with an 8 inch 686 on his hip… who shoots IDPA 2x per week, lol.
This is a huge reason for our differences across this country. The norms and standards are so very different. The sight of a 9mm on your hip at Walmart in NY will cause people to call the police!

I have to concur with the food handler’s choice. A drive-thru during the overnight hours have customers who may be under the influence of narcotics, alcohol or just in the mood for ‘raising Hell’. In front of friends, people will become a little irate if the food handler cannot read the person making the order mind. Words are said – tempers flare – and drama ensues.
So if presence of a displayed firearm can chill that out – I’m all for it. An armed society is a polite society.

I have mixed feelings about ‘open carry’. Sure it’s a Right. And it can be a deterrent. But it can also be a challenge to some miscreants who will view it as an invitation to escalate things. In addition there are plenty of instances where a person open carrying allowed a bad guy to get close enough to get the drop on them and take that weapon…sometimes with fatal results. All in all I prefer carrying concealed. NOBODY needs to know I’m armed until the moment they see the flash of the muzzle…if they even see that. But open carrying on such a job is a start, a better option than most fast food employees have.

didn’t know these gents, then the pastor informed me these guys were the church security team some of them. They hang out at the second church campus.
Keep getting a lot of calls asking me to train these two teams. I feel bad that I haven’t, but I just don’t want the responsibility , the church buys the weapons the ammo and they train a fair amount. These are young bucks, just something about their mind set that keeps me at bay.
I sense they are seeking a fight. I’m not. I’ve resolved myself to just being the burger and dog cook nobody pays attention to the cook! Fine by me.
