Paying More for Boutique Stuff

I don’t do that. I don’t care about impressing people. I don’t care what other people think. I like things that work well for the least expensive price I can find.

The saying ‘buy once, cry once’ exists for a reason. For many things in life you truly do get what you pay for and if you don’t want to pay you don’t get much. This is especially true of optics.

I own an Arken EP4 6-24X50 FFP MIL EPR Reticle with Zero Stop – 34mm Tube that lives in it’s box. Back twice because tracking is non existent. Arken says nothing wrong with it. Can’t sell it or throw it away, and Arken doesn’t want it back. So it just lives in it’s box. Appreciate the video, I can agree with his opinions. As always “results may vary”

I have one… it has bad chromatic aberration, and isn’t super clear at 25X. Tracking is spot on. It is NOT a Nightforce, which has astronomy-grade clarity. But it will work a lot better than what was available 5 or more years ago at the $400 price point. For certain.
I own an older SH4 Arken, and it’s worse with the aberration. If they could improve that (and you’d think it would be better; it’s allegedly Japanese ELD glass), they’d be competitive against the over-a-kilobuck class of scopes.
I’d sure take the Arken over a $600-$700 Vortex.
