This is in London. I’m sure they stopped to look. Deer rams into Porche. Bet he’s sorry he’s facing that repair bill.
From a good while back. Juvenile moose plays with dog. I know I said above not to be around moose. Adult moose in the rut is one thing, but a juvenile moose would seem to pose no danger. When I hiked in the Tetons I passed right by a moose who seemed pretty sedate.
Invasive mule deer are devastating the natural habitat of a small island off the coast of southern California, and a local conservation group wants to eradicate the non-native invaders once and for all. In order to achieve that goal, the Catalina Island Conservancy has announced plans to employ trained shooters to gun the mulies down from helicopters, theLos Angeles Times reports.
That is about a stupid a plan as I can imagine. Why don’t they just turn hunters loose and charge money for hunting rights? They could probably make enough money to sustain the conservancy for a long time. But progressives. No danger of logical thinking there.
IL State Police modified their ammo background check system to where sellers in the state need to put in the caliber being sold. This is to track people and target them for buying calibers like 5.57/7.62×39 who didn’t register their “assault rifles”…they’re going for it https://t.co/8oNhPlbUy4pic.twitter.com/4MgKWce24U
Shared via Instagram by Aaron Cowan of Sage Dynamics, a UTM memo detailing how the BATFE has ordered UTM to stop selling their non-lethal training ammo (NLTA) to anyone other than law enforcement and the military. RECOIL has confirmed this directly with UTM.
How and why the BATFE feels they have this authority to decide law-abiding civilians can’t have NLTA arbitrarily is a mystery to us at this time.
We know force-on-force training isn’t something most of us do every weekend. The fact is, most of us never do it in our lives. That said, it is extremely useful training that should be available to every legal firearm owner.
This is another example of the BATFE using its made-up power to invent de facto laws and regulations to suppress Americans’ right to bear arms. Training and access to ammunition are central to our Second Amendment rights.
Beyond that, this ban is simply an absurd federal overstep since non-lethal training ammunition is non-lethal. No one is being protected by this ban. No one is being saved. This is purely about the BATFE and the executive branch as a whole furthering their crusade of civilian disarmament.
They don’t have the authority. They just made that up out of whole cloth. Hopefully this will be taken to court and the ATF slapped down.
Basically, the ATF doesn’t want you to engage in force on force training.
But notice what they did. They banned it for civilian use, but didn’t include LE in that category. This is a sinful omission, and probably intentional.
I believe the founders had something to say about occupying armies.
After 123 years, the immortal Colt-Browning 1911 pistol has finally left U.S. military service. This is after a long history without parallel in the annals of American arms, a history that began well before the Great War.
… after 123 years, the U.S. Marine Corps, the last service still using the 1911, has traded them in.
That’s a shame. I know that MARSOC was the last group to use the 1911.
I wouldn’t want to enter a gun fight with the Sig M18 or any other Sig, but that’s just me.
When choosing a handgun, I choose primarily for purposes of ergonomics, weight distribution and tactile feel of the trigger. If you can’t hit anything, nothing else matters.
I’m not certain that every shotgun needs to be patterned. If you purchase a shotgun of the same make and model, using the same choke, it’s likely that your pattern will be the same.
However, it’s enough fun to shoot shotguns that why not? It’s an excuse for another trip to the range.
A senior member of the Pentagon’s communications staff is among two Anne Arundel County men charged with promoting and furthering an illegal dog fighting operation, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed Thursday.
Frederick Douglass Moorefield Jr., 62, of Arnold, and Mario Damon Flythe, 49, of Glen Burnie, and their associates used encrypted messaging “to discuss how to train the dogs for illegal dogfighting, exchanged videos about dogfighting, and arranged and coordinated dogfights,” Department of Justice officials said in a news release Monday. Moorefield operated under the name “Geehad Kennels,” and Flythe under the name “Razor Sharp Kennels” to describe their respective dogfighting operations, the complaint states.
The complaint, announced by U.S. Attorney Erek Barron, also alleges that Moorefield and Flythe used the encrypted messaging application to discuss betting on fights, dogs that died as a result of fighting, and how to conceal their operation from police. They also shared media reports about dogfighters caught by law enforcement, authorities say.
The news release identified Moorefield as a deputy chief information officer for command, control and communications for the Office of the Secretary of Defense; he and Flythe were released pending trial. If convicted, each faces a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison for possessing, training or transporting animals for an animal fighting operation.
Law enforcement officers who executed search warrants Sept. 6 at the homes of Moorefield and Flythe recovered 12 dogs. Also found in that search were veterinary steroids, training schedules, carpet with apparent bloodstains, a weighted dog vest with a patch that read “Geehad Kennels,” and a makeshift electrical device typically used to kill dogs that lose fights, according to the affidavit filed in support of the complaint.
The only reason a man does something like this is because he is a wicked sociopath. It isn’t because of the money involved. Enjoy your time in prison, jerk.
